At Vertava Health, we understand that budgeting for treatment may be tricky. That’s why we offer several payment options, including working with various insurers, including First Health. Don’t let finances be an excuse to delay treatment. Call Vertava Health today at 844.470.0410 and learn more about insurances we accept and First Health rehab insurance coverage.
Do First Health Rehab Insurance Providers Pay for My Treatment?
Estimates show that approximately 20.4 million people in the U.S. need drug or alcohol addiction treatment, but only around 4.2 million receive the help they need. An inability to pay for medical care is a significant reason for that discrepancy.
First Health rehab insurance coverage works to help cover the gap and help people in need get treatment for their substance use disorder.
Since the establishment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), insurance companies have been required to provide at least some level of coverage for mental health treatment, including treatment for substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder.
When addiction treatment services are necessary to protect a patient’s health, First Health Network is legally obligated to provide at least partial coverage for the treatment. Coverage amounts vary and depend on several factors, including:
- The type of treatment/program
- Your insurance plan level
- The length of your stay
- The services you receive
- Your state of residence (may be different from the state where you get treatment)
Regardless of the varying factors, under the ACA, First Health must cover some part of your rehab program if they are your insurance provider. Because Vertava is in-network with First Health, coverage rates are higher than they are for treatment centers that are not in-network.
What If I Don’t Have Insurance Yet?
If you do not yet have medical insurance, you may be able to receive First Health rehab insurance coverage through open enrollment at the Health Insurance Marketplace. Depending on your income, you may qualify for a free policy that’s 100% subsidized.
Your state’s marketplace process may allow you to choose First Health Network as your provider and choose a plan that covers your treatment needs. Keep in mind that you may be responsible for paying a deductible upfront.
New enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace is limited to November 1-January 31 every year. Exceptions may be made in some cases. Waiting for the enrollment period may delay your treatment, but it doesn’t have to derail your plans to regain your health.
