Holly’s Song Of Hope, The Bluffs To Host International Overdose Awareness Day
CARROLLTON, Ohio (August 30, 2017) – The general public is invited to join Holly’s Song of Hope and The Bluffs on August 31 for their International Overdose Awareness Day event on the Carrollton Square, to take place 11am-8pm EST.
“The event will honor those lost to the disease of addiction and those who work to save them,” says Holly’s Song of Hope Executive Director Tonda DaRe. “We will have ‘Thank You’ banners available for the public to sign for our first responders.”
DaRe says the banners will be presented to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carrollton Police Department, and EMT Ambulance Carrollton on September 1st with a lunch to show appreciation for the services they provide to the community.
Naloxone (Narcan) will be provided at the event thanks to the Tuscarawas County Health Department and Kinship Care of Carroll County will be on hand to support families raising children of those lost to or battling addiction.
“We’ll also have a hashtag booth for selfies to show support and spread awareness through social media,” says The Bluffs Market Director Krista Sweet. “Candles will be provided by The Bluffs to light in honor of those we’ve lost.”
Those who wish to add a photo of their loved one to the Remembrance Banner are asked to email their photos along with a date of birth and date of death to Tonda DaRe at [email protected] no later than August 30.
The following guest speakers will address the Village of Carrollton at 7pm EST:
Dr. Richard Foster
Chief Executive Officer
Sheriff Dale Williams
Holly’s Song of Hope
The event will also feature speakers revived by Naloxone (Narcan) and other members of the recovery community.
