BALTIMORE, MD (August 18, 2017) – Vertava Health CEO Brent Clements 2017 Champion of the Year Award Saturday by Behavioral Healthcare Executive Magazine at the National Conference on Addiction Disorders.
The ceremony, held at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, recognizes individuals for their dedication, courage, inspiration and excellence in their roles as executives of behavioral healthcare organizations.
“Clements is being honored for his unique ability to influence positive change and help more people on the journey of treatment and recovery,” says Behavioral Healthcare Executive Senior Editor Tom Valentino. “Through his achievements, Clements has also been successful in advancing the mission and vision of behavioral health organizations.”
Clements was selected from dozens of outstanding nominees who are making a difference in the development, delivery and effectiveness of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
“The biggest key in organizational effectiveness is attracting the right leaders to the organization,” Clements tells Behavioral Healthcare Executive. “We’ve been fortunate. We have some of the best leaders in the industry in all areas.”
Clements went on to say that he believes one of the reasons he’s been successful is that employees who come to Vertava Health don’t stay in the same role forever. They’re assigned different jobs. He says to determine those roles, you have to look at what’s in the best interest of your clients and their families, put that first, and then structure your organizational model around that.
“I’m so honored and grateful to receive this award,” says Clements. “To be honored by your peers in this type of way is more than I could have ever hoped for. We all in the treatment field are doing our best to combat this deadly epidemic by providing quality, sustainable care. Our clients and their families will always come first in any venture we aspire to accomplish.”
Vertava Health began with a small outpatient facility in 2014. Today, the drug and alcohol addiction treatment provider employs over 500 people in 4 states with a 5th location slated to open next month.
Clements attended the ceremony with his wife Victoria Clements and Vertava Health Director of Public Relations Brian Sullivan.
