LPC, CDCA, Lead Therapist
Grace Hanzel grew up near Port Clinton, Ohio. She entered the realm of addiction and behavioral health after overcoming adversity and addiction within her own family as well as adoption at age 13. She received her education at the University of Toledo and has experience in a variety of treatment modalities and settings including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, equine therapy, first responder trauma, inpatient psychiatry, as well as work within the corrections system. Her most recent endeavor has been enlistment with the Ohio Army National Guard and training as a combat medic. She brings with her to the Vertava Health Dublin team an upbeat mindset and is eager to continue learning and helping those seeking treatment in the Columbus area.
CNP, PMHNP-BC, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Deborah was born and raised in Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is also a registered nurse and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP).
Deborah has experiencing treating a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and trauma. Using a holistic approach to care, Deborah tries to incorporate good mental and physical health into the daily lives of her patients for optimal well-being. She explains, “I want to help patients live their best lives.”
In her spare time, Deborah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, refurbishing her 1885 Victorian house, gardening, kayaking, hiking, and reading.
Iyesha Bush was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She has a master’s degree in individual and family development as well as in rehabilitation counseling from South Carolina State University. Serving as an active-duty service member in the Army for six years, Iyesha was commissioned to the rank of second lieutenant and completed two tours in Afghanistan. She has a passion for instilling hope, empowering others to evolve into their best selves, and providing a safe space for patients to be vulnerable. Iyesha uses a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing. In her spare time, Iyesha enjoys being a mom, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Jeffrey C. Halberg
LISW-S, LICDC-CS, Executive Director
Jeffrey C. Halberg is both a licensed independent social worker with supervision designation as well as a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor with clinical supervisor designation. With more than 24 years in the field of mental health and utilization management, Jeffrey has experience in individual therapy, clinical supervision, systemic family therapy, mental health case management, crisis services, and care coordination across multiple systems and treatment services.
Clinical Solutions Coordinator
Nicole Akers was born and raised in Grove City, Ohio. She studied business at Ohio State University and Ohio Dominican University. In the past, Nicole worked for a chiropractor where she ran the front-end operations of the business as well as worked with billing and marketing. She has also owned her own photography business for the last 10 years. In her free time, you can find Nicole at the baseball field or on a lake.
